Making a Choice Based on Comparison

Because my soundscape is called "The Calm Before the Storm," naturally I had to compare sounds which induce a "calm" imagery to sounds which induce a "stormy" imagery. It is important to compare because how is one to be able to check the balance of feelings within one's soundscape without comparing its parts? It's like trying to write an exciting novel but without actually plotting the exposition versus its climax. I think with soundscapes, it is much more effective to compare over the course of revisions, because the first time you make a copy it's very much a rough cut. The more you go along, the easier it is to add a new sound or tweak a few things. The only thing is it's a tedious process because you have to go through a lot of vaguely-titled sound clips to finally find what you want. And personally, I find this difficult because I am an extremely visual person, so I don't know how to plan out in advance how I want mine to go.
